Afrikaans Speaking Voice Over Artists
Afrikaans is a West Germanic language predominantly spoken in South Africa and Namibia. It originated from the Dutch vernacular of South Holland, brought by Dutch settlers in the 17th century, and has since evolved with influences from African languages and English.
Afrikaans uses the Latin alphabet with some additional diacritical marks. The language has simplified many aspects of the Dutch grammatical system. For example, it doesn't conjugate verbs based on the subject of the sentence, and it doesn't use grammatical gender for nouns, which is common in many European languages. The Afrikaans vocabulary has also incorporated words from other languages, including Malay, Portuguese, Bantu languages, and Khoisan languages.
Afrikaans is the third most spoken language in South Africa, and is taught in schools and used in government and media.
